John Lewis Veterans for Peace Scholarship Honoring James Concannon

Every year since 2010, Veterans For Peace Chapter 50 has awarded a scholarship to a student attending Northwestern Michigan College.

The concept and fundraising for this now endowed scholarship began on the Appalachian Trail in 2009 as our current Chapter President, Tim Keenan, thru-hiked the 2,000 plus miles in search of the inner peace that was torn from him during the Vietnam war.

This scholarship honors our beloved founding member, John Lewis, as well as Vietnam Veteran James Concannon, who passed away due to the effects of agent orange.
